So, how are those New Year’s resolutions coming?  Did you make any this year? It’s the end of July and I would bet by now, most have been forgotten. Typically we make resolutions to lose weight, get in shape, join a bible study, be more organized, spend more time with family and friends etc and by March, if not before, they are forgotten. Why does that happen? Were we not sincere when we made our goals? I don’t think that’s the case. Were our goals too ambitious? This, I believe is some of the issue. Instead of starting out with a realistic and manageable goal, we tend to aim a bit too high and when the goal begins to seem unobtainable, we find ourselves giving up.

I’d like to try something different. I would like to invite you to join me in making a Mid-Year’s Resolution. You can choose whatever you feel is needed for making a positive change in your life. . . For example: lose weight ( start at 5 pounds not 50), get in shape ( walk 15 minutes a day instead of running marathon) grow in your faith ( choose one verse and mediate on it ALL day instead of reading 10 chapters and remembering nothing). And if we’re talking about positive changes, what if we all made a resolution, on behalf of, For Our Community, to do one random act of kindness per week? (or one per day if you’re up to it ) Can you imagine the impact that could have on your family, at your workplace, in your neighborhood?

The Honduras Mission Team is still in Honduras through this week and greatly appreciates your prayers for the work they are doing and for safe travels home.
