Spring is just around the corner...and under two feet of snow.
The sermon series about God’s great plan is now being fulfilled in spite of Israel’s rebellion and failures in the leadership. I was struck by how much God pursues us, even when we rebel and turn away from him. Isn’t that the heart of the resurrection message? “For God showed his great love for us, that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us!” When we lived in rebellion to God, drowning in our sin, an enemy of the most high God, he sent his son to die for us. And we are the keepers of this message of hope. As pastor Steve pointed out, the church is God’s plan to carry this message to the world. We cannot tire in our gratitude, we cannot lose heart in the face of rejection and, like Elisha, we have to be “all in”.
We are about to observe the emotionally powerful week beginning with Palm Sunday. Every year at this time, I reflect on what God did on my behalf. I am so thankful He pursued me and saved me from a life of pain. Let’s partner together and tell our world of His redeeming love.
I hope God’s spirit is putting people on your mind to invite!
